Philosophy

Our bodies are in perpetual motion, and our minds tend to follow the same pattern dwelling in the past or racing in the future. Attending in the present moment is being in a state of mindfulness. Massage is not a new age trend or just a luxury, but a deeply rooted method used throughout history; an ancient healing art that holistic healers used to promote well-being. As part of that philosophy, I believe this can be achieved through a mindful practice that is performed with meaningful techniques. My work is to help you bring mind, body, and spirit into a state of balance and harmony, providing an opportunity for self-healing, and to help create a space where you attend to the present moment.

Massage Offerings

  • Swedish - Light to medium pressure used throughout the session that will relax you from head to toe.
  • Deep Tissue - A type of massage therapy that focuses on the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It helps work out knots that are bothersome and cause chronic muscle tension.
  • Thai Yoga Massage - Unique from other types of bodywork and massage, it’s a form of yoga therapy that combines rhythmic movement, assisted yoga poses, and acupressure along energy meridians. It is also known as nuad boran, one of the ancient healing arts of traditional Thai medicine (along with herbal medicine and spiritual meditation). What to expect during a Thai session: it is performed on a floor mat in comfortable clothes, and throughout the session, the practitioner uses his or her palms, thumbs, elbows, and legs.
  • Reiki - As healing energy, Reiki reconnects, restores, and balances energy within one body. What to expect during a Reiki session: the practitioner follows a series of gentle, non-evasive hand positions over the receiver’s body as the receivers lay comfortably on a massage table. With the exception of shoes, the recipient remains fully clothed.
  • Reflexology - Is the application of appropriate pressure to specific points and areas on the feet, hands, or ears.

Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give 24 hours’ notice. If less than 24 hours is given, you will be charged 50% of the cost of the scheduled treatment.

Precautions

Bodywork is not recommended for certain people:

  • Infectious skin disease, rash, or open wounds.
  • Immediately after surgery
  • Immediately after chemotherapy or radiation, unless recommended by your doctor.
  • Colds or flu

After Care Suggestions:

Bodywork treatments are a very powerful way of detoxifying the body and stimulating the body’s energetic system. After a treatment, your body might show some of the following reactions:

  • Heightened emotions
  • Increased thirst
  • Aching muscles
  • Tiredness

These reactions are a natural part of the healing process and should clear in 24 to 48 hours. To ensure the maximum benefit after you received a bodywork, you are advised to consider the following for 24 hours:

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Avoid eating a heavy meal within two hours of your treatment to give the body time to fully benefit from the therapy.
  • Try to reduce the intake of alcohol, tobacco, or other toxins. This can upset the body’s balance.
